Fluence 2024 Community Wrap-Up: Here’s What You Helped Us Achieve! 🎉

2024 has been an exciting year for Fluence and our community, and we want to thank each one of you for being a part of this journey! From Cloudless VM Alpha Testing program, FLT Staking Launch, multiple DePIN Day events across the globe, new partnerships and providers and a rapidly growing community, let’s dive into some of the biggest milestones of this year.

🌍 Key Stats and Achievements

FLT Rewards Program: In our bid to make decentralized computing more accessible, we’ve allocated FLT tokens to over 110,000 GitHub accounts globally as part of our trustless community rewards program​. Find out more here. 

Fluence DAO & FLT Token Launch: In February, we launched the Fluence DAO, introducing decentralized governance and giving you all a say in how the platform evolves. As the fuel for the Fluence ecosystem, the FLT token drives economic coordination, incentivizes network performance, secures operations, and empowers governance through the Fluence DAO. Compute Providers Network: As we continued to scale the network throughout the year, we've been steadily expanding our pool of Compute Providers. We have partnered with top-tier providers, such as Kabat, Nebula, GlobalStake and PiKNiK, who help us to deliver sustainable decentralized compute at up to 80% less than traditional cloud costs. FLT Staking Launch: Our Staking program launched successfully in September, allowing FLT holders to secure the network, support decentralized operations, and earn rewards. The staking rewards are distributed as a percentage of staked FLT, incentivizing active involvement while reinforcing the ecosystem’s security. A big thank you to everyone who has staked FLT so far! FLT Stake Race: In September we ran the FLT Stake Race - an exciting competition that brought our community together to explore and strengthen the Fluence protocol. Through challenges, content creation, and referrals, participants earned points and competed for rewards from a prize pool of over 1 million FLT tokens! This race wasn’t just about competition—it was about showcasing the creativity, dedication, and teamwork that make our community so special. Your incredible efforts have built a more decentralized, resilient, and open web.

Partnerships: In 2024, we’ve announced several partnerships with other key Web3 & AI ecosystem players. We've partnered with Gelato, a Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS), to automate cross-chain contracts, enabling efficiency and reliability for dApp developers. We were proud to announce Rapid Node and Spheron as early adopters of the Cloudless VM Alpha Testing Program. We've also entered a strategic partnership with Autonomys to enhance Autonomys’ AI3.0 infrastructure with our verifiable decentralized computing by providing additional distributed CPU resources.

Cloudless VMs Alpha Testing Launch: In November, we proudly introduced the Fluence Cloudless VMs Alpha Program, and it’s been inspiring to see our community embrace this impactful initiative. This program empowers users to test deployment of Virtual Machines at up to 75% lower costs than traditional cloud services, leveraging the power of decentralization for unmatched affordability and resilience. Your participation is helping shape the future of serverless computing, and we couldn’t be prouder to have such a forward-thinking community driving this transformation.

🪩 DePIN Days Across the Globe

In 2024, we hosted DePIN Day across multiple cities worldwide, alongside major Ethereum developer conferences—spanning Denver, Brussels, and Bangkok. These events brought together thought leaders and builders exploring the future of DePIN and decentralized computing. We were happy to host over 2,400 attendees across multiple continents​, and partner with multiple collaborators in the ecosystem to make the DePIN Day vision a reality.

• DePIN Day Bangkok Recap AMA: DePIN Day Bangkok was a goldmine of insights and thought-provoking discussions, bringing together dozens of innovative DePIN projects pushing the boundaries. Our recap AMA featured insights from leaders at Parasail Network, Aethir, Spheron Network, Eigenlayer and Open. Discussions focused on quality service delivery, user demand, and emerging trends like decentralized GPU access for AI applications. Innovations like Parasail's staking solutions and Eigenlayer's restaking mechanism simplify adoption and enhance security. Open's efforts to democratize compute and data access further empower developers. 

🎙DePINed Podcast

Our co-founder Tom Trowbridge launched the DePINed podcast releasing 35 episodes. All of them featuring high-profile guests and DePIN industry leaders, our podcasts have reached thousands of listeners, sparking conversations about the intersection of decentralized networks and emerging technologies​.
