A Defining Moment in Web3: The DePIN Pledge Campaign

On February 27, a packed audience at DePIN Day Denver listened intently as Tom Trowbridge, co-founder of Fluence, took the stage. His message was clear:

“The internet wasn’t meant to be owned by a handful of corporations. It’s time to take it back.”

Fluence introduced the DePIN Pledge Campaign, an industry-wide effort encouraging projects, developers, and organizations to commit to community-owned infrastructure. Leading DePIN projects and Web3-native enterprises have signed on, reinforcing a movement expanding decentralized compute, storage, and networking solutions.

Participants who sign the pledge receive a DePIN Pledge NFT, recognizing their commitment to reducing reliance on centralized services.

Decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) form the backbone of a more resilient internet. Companies that build on permissionless networks reduce points of failure, resist censorship, and create a more open digital economy. Fluence is mobilizing the industry to take action. The campaign has already gained traction.

FLT Token Goes Live on Biconomy

Accessibility encourages growth, making Fluence (FLT) token’s listing on Biconomy on February 28 a major step forward.

Biconomy’s seamless trading experience expands opportunities for developers and infrastructure providers integrating Fluence’s decentralized compute services. A liquid and widely available FLT token strengthens the ecosystem.

FLT Liquidity Improvement Proposal Passed

The Fluence DAO has approved the Liquidity Improvement Proposal, granting FLT tokens and a USDT loan to boost FLT liquidity.

This is a crucial advancement for the Fluence ecosystem. This proposal updates the October 24th version, detailing fees and loans for market making and onboarding additional market makers. Future proposals will address exchange listings.

To boost FLT token liquidity, the DAO will support and engage market makers, with the governance committee overseeing their hiring and management. Over 12 months, the DAO will approve:

  1. Up to USDC 15,000 monthly
  2. A maximum loan of 2 million FLT tokens
  3. A maximum loan of $750,000 USDT or equivalent value in ETH

These funds and loans back market-making activities, with the governance committee entrusted to decide and act for up to twelve months.

The Rise of Fluence Ambassadors

Building a decentralized internet extends beyond technology—it requires cultural adoption. That’s where the Fluence Ambassador Program plays a role.

February marked the conclusion of this initiative, with 10 outstanding ambassadors selected to advance Fluence’s vision. These ambassadors serve as educators, community builders, and technical guides. Their contributions include:

  1. Developing high-quality educational content to support new developers.
  2. Organizing events and workshops to promote hands-on engagement.
  3. Strengthening partnerships with other projects in the DePIN space.

By equipping these voices with the resources to educate and engage, Fluence ensures decentralization gains real-world momentum.

Fueling Innovation: The DePIN Hero Campaign

A thriving ecosystem depends on participation. To encourage innovation, Fluence launched the DePIN Hero Campaign, in collaboration with Aleph and iExec, featuring a $15,000 prize pool for contributions to decentralized infrastructure.

Competitions like this extend beyond financial incentives. They foster a builder-first culture, attracting developers and researchers working on improvements in compute efficiency, resource optimization, and interoperability. This initiative transforms ideas into practical DePIN adoption.

Global Engagement: ETH Denver & DePIN Days

Web3 is a global movement, and Fluence actively engages where its community thrives. February included participation in two key events:

ETH Denver and Pragma Denver
A gathering of Web3 projects, enthusiasts developers, where Fluence introduced its decentralized compute capabilities and explored off-chain computation solutions with builders.

DePIN Day Hong Kong and Denver
One of the largest DePIN gathering in Web3, a platform for leaders in decentralized infrastructure to share latest insights, project developments, and network among DePIN enthusiasts and builders.

These engagements go beyond networking. Direct feedback from developers, investors, and infrastructure providers helps shape Fluence’s roadmap based on real-world needs.

Tom Trowbridge’s Media Features

Ivan Zhelev from Blockster interviewed Tom Trowbridge, co-founder of Fluence, discussing their innovative decentralized computing network, which transforms cloud systems using scalable, cost-effective DePIN technology.

"When you're building a layer-1, you're building a global business from day one" – Tom Trowbridge

Our co-founder, Tom Trowbridge, emphasized the significance of Fluence's revenue-driven tokenomics, shedding light on how this model contributes to our platform's sustainable growth and increasing market demand. explained how these financial dynamics attract stakeholder interest and align with industry trends.

Tom also highlighted key insights that emphasize our strategic advantages and unique value in decentralized cloud computing, driving Fluence forward in a competitive landscape.

Expanding the Conversation: The DePINed Podcast

Decentralization brings complexity. The DePINed Podcast makes these concepts accessible through insightful discussions with leading DePIN projects:

Episode 41:

For years, mapping giants like Google have monetized user-generated location data without giving back. What if you could earn from your contributed data? In the Episode 41 of DePINedPodcast, hosted by Fluence co-founder Tom Trowbridge, Brent van der Heiden, co-founder of MapMetrics, discusses how a decentralized mapping network is changing this dynamic.

Episode 42:

Can earning crypto be as easy as clicking a button? In Episode 42 of DePINedPodcast, Dominic Carosa, co-founder of Hivello, discusses how their DePIN aggregator is transforming access to decentralized networks.

Episode 43:

Internet needs decentralized compute In Episode 43 of DePINedPodcast episode, Kabir Veitas, co-founder and CEO of NuNet, explains why decentralized compute is crucial for the Web3 infrastructure stack.

Episode 44:

Is DePIN adoption too complicated? Not anymore. In this Episode 44 of DePINedPodcast, we meet Alexander Markin, CEO of AYDO, to discuss how they are simplifying DePIN. By aggregating various DePIN projects, they enable users to manage everything in one place, reducing hardware costs and easing monetization.

These discussions serve more than Fluence’s vision—they contribute to the ongoing conversation about decentralized infrastructure. By sharing expert insights, Fluence ensures developers and non-technical audiences alike recognize the importance of DePIN’s growth.
