Highlights in Leadership: Tom Trowbridge’s Advocacy

Our Co-Founder Tom Trowbridge’s recent op-ed was published by Finance Magnates, dissecting the regulatory complexities encountered by Web3 projects and pushing for greater credibility within the blockchain industry.

Tom’s insights, shared in interviews such as his recent feature with Moniify, strengthen Fluence’s reputation as an adaptive organization steering the cloudless revolution.

Tom participated in the Crypto Ball, a high-profile event honoring President Donald Trump's upcoming inauguration. While the Crypto Ball itself was remarkable, being among a select group of crypto executives at the main inauguration events made it even more special.

Notable attendees included Michael Saylor (Co-Founder of MicroStrategy), Kyle Samani (Co-Founder & Managing Partner in Multicoin Capital – Fluence’s investor), Brad Garlinghouse (CEO of Ripple), and David Sacks (entrepreneur and AI & Crypto Czar).

The impressive guest list exceeded expectations, featuring other prominent figures such as J.D. Vance, Robert F. Kennedy, Vivek Ramaswamy, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Bernard Arnault, Masayoshi Son, Barry Diller, and Joe Rogan.

The historic event provided opportunities to connect with policymakers and other leaders. Fluence is well-positioned to help federal and state governments lower computing costs, streamline processes, and drive innovative solutions.

Fluence Ambassador Program

The launch of the Fluence Ambassador Program invites community members to champion Fluence’s vision by creating educational resources, organizing events, and driving awareness.

In return, ambassadors gain FLT tokens, preview new features, and connect with innovators across the decentralized tech space.

This program offers a practical path for engaged participants to contribute meaningfully while advancing their skills and earning rewards.

Fluence and Rivalz Lead Decentralized AI Forward

Fluence and Rivalz AI collaborated to address a critical challenge in centralized AI systems—the increasing difficulty of meeting the growing demand for AI applications.

By combining Rivalz’s ROME AI resource hub with Fluence’s cloudless computing model, the partnership is exploring solutions designed to be more efficient and reliable.

Key aspects of the partnership include:

  • Enhanced Scalability: Fluence empowers Rivalz’s resource hub through distributed computation, optimizing performance for AI applications.
  • Data Security and Efficiency: Decentralized data handling reduces costs while boosting security and accessibility.
  • A Unified Vision for AI’s Future: Together, we’re working toward solutions that prioritize decentralization to unlock opportunities for users across Web3.

This collaboration reinforces the potential for decentralized computing to become a cornerstone in the development of scalable AI systems that avoid reliance on conventional cloud providers.

Engaging and Growing the Fluence Community

Fun met learning with the #WordHuntChallenge, a community campaign by Fluence and Rivalz from January 21 to 27.

Participants competed for $500 in $FLT tokens and a sought-after zNode, all while exploring the intersection of gamification and Web3 education.

By solving word puzzles about DePIN and AI, 10 winners won FLT tokens and a Rivalz zNode, fostering engagement and broadening awareness of the real-world innovations driven by decentralized technology.

Driving Meaningful Conversations via AMAs

Engaging with the broader Web3 community remains a top priority, and January featured valuable discussions across multiple platforms.

  • Mike Voronov, our Head of R&D, participated in an X Spaces AMA hosted by Mizzle on Securing the Decentralized Cloud: TEEs, ZKPs, and eBPF alongside Secret Network, CESS Storage, RunOnFlux, and Hela Network. The AMA explored how decentralized solutions surpass traditional cloud systems in terms of security and efficiency.
  • Our co-founder Tom Trowbridge joined Moby Media’s AMA and discussed resilient and verifiable decentralized infrastructure, emphasizing the need for open, developer-friendly alternatives to centralized services. Listen to the full AMA recording here.
  • In the last AMA of January, Tom Trowbridge hosted Matt, Rivalz's CBDO, to talk about Why AI Needs to Run on DePIN. Together, we emphasized the potential for distributed computing to enhance AI scalability, offering a more efficient and secure alternative to traditional systems. Listen to the full AMA recording here.

Fluence DAO Proposals and Fiscal Strategy

The Fluence DAO celebrated significant progress in January, launching several initiatives to balance ecosystem growth and financial sustainability:

  • Token Sale Reserve Proposal: Approval for allocating up to 5% of FLT’s total supply (50M tokens) for strategic sales. These resources will strengthen ecosystem expansion, attract top talent, and boost business development efforts. Full details here.
  • Liquidity Improvement Proposal (Updated): Partnerships with market makers and USDT loan agreements have bolstered token liquidity, ensuring stability for future growth. Full details here.

The Fluence DAO also released its 2024 financial report, providing a transparent view of spending, income, and treasury reserves, which include $7.17M USDC and 379.7M FLT. With only 9% of tokens circulating, the DAO maintains a solid financial strategy to fuel long-term objectives.
